The year is 1769, and the Spanish arrived on the Coast of California, known then as Alta California. The Portolá expedition was the first recorded European exploration of the interior of present-day California. The expedition encountered, documented, and traded with the Native Americans up and down the coast, including our local Chumash.

This tiny slice of heaven on earth. Set in a valley in the Topatopa Mountains, Ojai is a perfect combination of a small town set in the mountains, only miles from the Pacific Ocean.

My favorite thing to say is, “Ventura is the last small beach town in California”. It’s a dream of historic houses, stylish family neighborhoods, family-owned restaurants, miles of beaches. All hugged by our majestic mountains.
